pecial relationships with faculty members have always been a cherished part of the Denison experience. Many generations of legendary professors have inspired, challenged, and helped launch adult lives. To ensure that student-faculty relationships remain strong, Denison is doing something quite revolutionary among colleges: We're hiring more faculty members, while holding our enrollment to between 2,000 and 2,050 students. With smaller groups of students, professors are able to be even more involved in students' success and can invest in new ways to reach and engage them. With more time for individual and small-group interaction, they become mentors for student scholarship, while finding the resources and encouragement to conduct their own original research and participate in the scholarly world – work that, in turn, enriches their teaching.
